Highlights of the Week

Well, I can honestly say that the weeks keep on getting better. God has been speaking to me more and more about my purpose here, and why I am in this beautiful country. It is really exciting - and scary - to think that my life is to do his will, and his will only. It's also a very safe place. London is such a tribute to the sufficiency and greatness of man - so much history and "important people" and years and years of prosperity - God sometimes seems to be very small in this secular jungle. BUT, he reminds me again and again that he isn't! He is VERY big!

These are some of the things that were particular blessings this week:

• A sermon given yesterday at church by Lazarus Yaghnazar. He is from Iran, and his message just hit me right between the eyes - really reminded me that my heart's passion is missions. Watch this space...
• Doing some sight-seeing with an old friend from PE - Cuyler, you're the bomb! And watching The Chorus...a truly beautiful film.
• The BEST day of my trip here so far. Kate and I went into the centre of London for some magic...and boy did we find it! Buckingham Palace, St James' gardens, a ride in a black cab, Leicester Square, seeing the Constables (not policemen!!!) and Turners at the National Gallery and so much more!
• A trip out of London to Cheshire and the GLORIOUS English countryside! Oh my, but it is just so cute! Daffodils and hedges and green rolling hills with little houses lined by trim gardens...just wonderful!
• A day in the town of Chester while out in Cheshire. SUCH amazing history - a Roman wall built in 79 AD that goes all the way around the old city, and streets lined with Tudor-style buildings...really stunning.
• Reading Rick Warren's "Purpose-Driven Life", and Jess Groom's "Fearfully & Wonderfully". Both amazing books!

So that's about all for now. The cash is running a bit low, so hopefully teaching will start again soon, but I am really enjoying the time off! Hope that you're all being blessed...
