FOUR MONTHS!!

Golly can you believe it??! I stood next to someone yesterday and they asked me how long I'd been in the UK and I nearly said, "Oh, years...." Hehe. The past month has been THE most EXCITING, EXHILARATING and wonderful of the lot.

All I pretty much did ("All," she says? "ALL?") was to be involved in a production at a local theatre in Ealing - which was every night for the past three weeks! It was absolutely fantastic! I had an absolute ball, meeting people, working backstage...my role was to man one of the VOMS (exits) and help actors on and off with props and costumes. It was Oh What A Lovely War, and so there were tons of scenes and costume changes...set in a circus ring. It was FANTASTIC - really can't do it justice! The best was being able to see the show and get so involved in it up close - you weren't just hidden away in the costume department - you were RIGHT THERE - in on the action!

As we speak I am sitting up in bed, grinning and happy after only 3 hours of sleep! Kate and I went to a friend's birthday party over in Russell Square, and then on the way home we decided to have coffee and meander around Leicester Square. Upon the which we happened upon all these artists doing people's portraits along the street - so we had our caricatures done! It was fun! Wish I could show you mine. Pretty eyes, huge big forehead and funny mouth...just about does it! Kate's was also so funny. But the best is just to watch those guys go at it - swish swish and there's an eye, swish and there's a cheek, dab dab rustle rustle and there it is!

And THEN after we had soaked in the fun and razzle of the square at night - although it wasn't even dark - we sauntered down to one of the many glittering cinemas and decided to watch Mr and Mrs Smith. It was absolute trash, but SO much fun! Loved watching dear old Brad run about in his shorts. He really is a great comic actor. When it had finished, we had missed the last tube, so we had to join the throngs of drunkards and tourists in catching one of the late-night buses from Trafalgar Square. We just missed the bus, so we had to wait for about half an hour for another one (about 1:30am), so we started telling each other bad jokes (pulled out all Dad's terrible Irish ones) and vague attempts at conversation: what's your favourite car? what's your favourite time of day? best holiday? Sigh. Eventually our bus came, and then it was about an hour and a half till getting home. We were zonked! But it was quite fun - watching people
getting on and off.

And that's about all I can think of for now. Been frantically applying for jobs and gritting my teeth through teaching, but THINGS ARE CHANGING! Praise God! Been just COMING ALIVE HERE - it's been so amazing. The church is WONDERFUL.
Anyway, have a fantastic weekend! That's all from me :-)
